Vital security of the regional water supply network is provided by the
Ngauranga Pumping Station. Officially opened in June1992 the pumping
station provides a crucial backup system should there be any interference
with the normal water supply linkages – for example, in the event of an
earthquake or a shortage of water.

This brochure outlines the purpose, water treatment process and some
technical data for the pumping station.
