An investigation to improve definition of the hydrology of the Moera Aquifer
was undertaken during 1997/98. The primary focus of the investigation
was the definition of the potential for the Moera Aquifer to the developed as
a source of municipal supply to supplement existing abstraction from the
Waiwhetu Aquifer.
Work undertaken included compilation of all historical data on the Moera
Aquifer, the use of the UWA-3 bore for an extended duration aquifer test,
and seismic reflection surveys to improve definition of aquifer structure.
This report summarises the findings.
