This report is the fourth by the Resource Investigations Department of the
Wellington Regional Council investigating the relationship between the
Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) and river flows within the Wellington
Region.The aim of this report is to extend the methodologies developed in
previous reports to the Waikanae and Otaki catchments on the Kapiti
Coast and investigate whethera relationship exists between the SOI and
flow in the two rivers.
