Boulder Field House is a great place to stay and explore Belmont Regional Park. It’s located just inside the park entry on Hill Road, and just a couple of hundred metres from the start of the mountain bike trail network. It’s a great base for exploring the northern end of the park.
Stay in a restored park house nestled in regenerating native bush, just inside the Belmont Regional Park entrance.
Boulder Field House features a sunny outlook over the park and is easily accessed. It is right on the doorstep of mountain biking and walking tracks, and a great base for exploring both the open space (farmland) and bushy areas of the park. It has three bedrooms (two queen beds and two singles), a retro-style well-equipped kitchen, modern furnishings, bike storage and barbecue area.
Located approximately 25 minutes from downtown Wellington, the park house is surrounded by greenspace and located within the geologically significant Belmont Boulder Field. The boulder field extends up the hill behind the cottage which is now largely covered by regenerating bush.
If you’re a mountain biker, there’s a network of dedicated trails starting just 80 metres from the house. There are bike racks in the car port, a hose for washdown, leads for e-bike charging and a great big park to explore.
If you’re in transit, the house is also a handy base for a dash down State Highway Two to the interisland ferries or the airport.
