At Greater Wellington, we are proud to be taking steps on our journey to become more diverse, equitable and inclusive. We know there is still a long way to go, but it’s a journey we are excited to be on.
Pride Pledge
We are proud to have taken the Pride Pledge, a commitment to the safety, visibility and inclusion of the rainbow community in our work. We hold regular Pride Pledge training to support our staff to understand the unique needs and create better outcomes for rainbow communities.
For more information, visit the Pride Pledge website.
Diversity Works
Greater Wellington is a member of Diversity Works, the national body for workplace diversity, equity and inclusion. Diversity Works support us to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace for all of our staff.

Transparent gender pay gap
We regularly conduct gender pay gap analyses to identify and address pay inequities between genders. We use this information to lower our gender pay gap, with the goal of eliminating it entirely. As of February 2024, our median gender pay gap is 1.71%, which means women earn 1.71% less than men on average. In comparison, the national gender pay gap in New Zealand is 8.6%.
For more information on the New Zealand gender pay gap, visit the Manatū Wāhine, Ministry for Women website.
